GENIE—THE MAGIC CARPET RIDE

The biggest innovation on the Stumpjumper 15 Alloy is GENIE—a patent-pending air spring system that gives every trail rider their three wishes: the traction and feel of a coil spring, better bottom-out prevention than a standard air spring, and the ability to independently tune both mid-stroke and end-stroke support.

ILLUMINATING GENIE

GENIE blends the control-enhancing linear spring rate of a coil shock through the “bump zone” with the progressive spring rate of an air spring at the end of the stroke, preventing bottom-outs. This gives you the best of both worlds—coil-like plushness with the progressive tuning of air—for a ride that is fully customisable and incredibly forgiving.

WHAT BUMP?

With 16.3% better bump force management than a traditional air spring, GENIE allows the Stumpjumper 15 Alloy to feel like a bike with much more travel. For example, the 145mm rear travel on the Stumpjumper 15 Alloy absorbs the same bump force as a 170mm travel bike like the Enduro. That means more comfort and control without the extra weight.

TRACTION GALORE

Field testing has shown that GENIE provides 57% more traction than standard air shocks. By delivering supple, coil-like performance, GENIE keeps the wheel in contact with the ground longer, especially over technical terrain, giving you more grip and control where you need it most.

Thanks to GENIE’s two-stage rising rate, the Stumpjumper 15 Alloy experiences 39% fewer bottom-outs than bikes with traditional air springs. The progressive end-stroke absorbs big hits with ease, keeping your ride smooth and controlled, even on the most aggressive trails.
