Alchemy Eros Ti Custom Build

The new owner of this Alchemy Eros Ti is one such person, looking for a comfortable but sporty feeling bike for long rides in the Lakes whilst contending with the worst the weather and road surfaces have to offer, they were keen to get something a bit different.

Enter Alchemy, producing their titanium (along with their carbon and steel) frames in Denver, Colorado, they make a small range of off-the-shelf sizes along with offering a complete custom build option including painting the finished bike to your design.  The Eros is their road all-rounder, not so sporty that it becomes uncomfortable but not so laid back there’s no spark. If you want it sportier or more like a tourer then Alchemy can certainly make it happen, in fact you could even design your own frame and they’ll make the magic happen for you.

In keeping with the traditional appearance of the frame the bike was specced with the classy looking Brooks Cambium saddle and bar tape and the lightweight but robust Hunt Carbon Gravel wheelset set up tubeless with 30C Schwalbe G-One Speed tires to keep the weight down but the comfort up.  Shifting duties are taken care of by Shimano’s faultless Ultegra Di2 and the bar, stem and post are all Pro with the bar being internally routed for the Di2 cables to keep the front end looking clean, especially when the cables and hoses are heatshrunk together.

All told it’s hard to think of anything which would make this bike any better for its intended purpose - covering the miles over dodgy Lakeland tarmac whilst looking special but understated!

This complete build came in at under £7000 which, whilst undoubtedly a lot of money, doesn’t seem at all unreasonable when you consider the small batch, handmade in the US nature of the frame and the level of componentary used.
