Three years after the launch of the very first electric mountain bike, we and Specialized are beyond excited to introduce you to the next generation, the all-new 2019 Specialized Turbo Levo.

So what's new? In a word everything.  The all-new Levo is lighter, stiffer, more capable, smoother and more powerful. Whilst they were at it, they’ve boosted the bike’s range by an astonishing 40%. The all-new Levo is set to redefine e-MTBs…. All over again.

INCREDIBLY LIGHTWEIGHT
The all-new Levo is quite possibly the lightest e-MTB in its class. They’ve sheared away massive amounts of weight from both the motor and frame - 1.2kg in total.  (The new aluminium Levo chassis weighs less than the 2018 carbon S-Works Levo). Out on the trail, you immediately notice that weight reduction as it’s easy to get the Levo airborne and to flick the bike around. They’ve optimized weight distribution giving the bike a lower centre of gravity and a nimble-yet-planted feel.

EVEN MORE CAPABLE
Taking what they learnt whilst making the latest Stumpjumper, they’ve put this into the new, purpose-built Turbo Levo chassis. The result is a stiffer, lower-slung Turbo Levo that’s even easier to manoeuvre in technical terrain. This has also meant the there are updates to the Levo’s kinematics and geometry. This is a truly progressive 29” trail bike that feels absolutely bottomless on big hits, and which boasts the kind of confidence-inspiring geometry that lets you push your limits when the trails get steep and sketchy.
 
THE SMOOTHEST, QUIETEST AND MOST POWERFUL MOTOR
The Turbo Levo’s new magnesium-bodied Specialized 2.1 motor is 15% smaller and 400 grams lighter than the previous 1.3 motor, yet more efficient and powerful. The new 2.1 motor boosts rider input by up to 410%, providing up to 560W and 90Nm of torque with no awkward surges or lags in power. Engineers in Switzerland spent years creating custom software that drives this cutting-edge motor. The result is something exclusive to the Turbo Levo - a motor that provides an incredibly smooth and natural boost to your own pedalling efforts.
 
MORE MILES FROM EVERY CHARGE
The Expert and S-Works Levo models come equipped with a 700Wh battery that boosts range by an astounding 40%. While other Levo models feature a 500Wh battery, the 700Wh version will be available aftermarket, as an upgrade option (Note: the new Levo battery is not retrofit table to first generation Levo’s). What’s more, they’ve effectively eliminated the fear of running out of power on the trail through a Smart Control feature available on the Mission Control App.  This lets you set the Levo’s power assist to last for the duration of your ride, and they’ve added a new Range Calculator to help riders determine their power needs before their next ride.
 
BRILLIANT YET SIMPLE
The all-new Turbo Levo is the smartest and best-connected e-MTB to date. In the centre of the top tube, you’ll finally find a sleek new Turbo Connect Unit that connects the bike via ANT+ and Bluetooth® to both the outside world and the Mission Control App.  The new Mission Control App now is even simpler to use thanks to a new, more intuitive user Interface, and offers new functionality like Shuttle Mode. This takes the sting out of long climbs by giving you maximum motor support with less required effort at the pedals. It’s perfect for the days where you want to ditch the lift and get up on your own.
 
Mission Control helps you easily customise nearly every aspect of the bike. You can fine tune the motor characteristics, monitor your power use, control your range, perform basic system diagnoses, record and upload rides, and way, way more.
 
In short, there’s a lot going on here with the new Specialized Turbo Levo.
