Workshop at Biketreks

Here at Biketreks we believe passionately that if a job’s worth doing it’s worth doing properly and as such our workshop staff hold industry qualifications as well as common sense and engineering degrees!  They undertake further training with our suppliers on an ongoing basis and use the correct equipment to get you out on your bike as soon as possible.  Whether you've had a flat tyre, need a cable changing or want a full service to keep your bike in perfect working order then we are your people.

We now have two very fancy purpose built workshops one based in Ambleside where mountain bikes are our speciality and our newest workshop in Ings where road and hybrid bikes are their forte.  Both workshops can deal with a multitude of bikes from any brand and can carry out almost any task no matter how small or big of a job it might be.

Some of the work we perform regularly is listed below but this is by no means all we can do:

  • Suspension servicing for Fox, Rockshox, Bos, DT Swiss, X Fusion, Suntour, MRP and more
  • Shimano Di2 Updating and Installation
  • SRAM eTap Updating and Installation
  • Invisiframe frame protection fitting
  • Full custom building on any frame we sell or you supply to us
  • Custom wheel building and re-truing built wheels
  • Dropper post servicing and repairs

We are more than happy to take walk in jobs as well as pre-booked ones, but bear in mind from March to September we are in the height of season so it's not always possible to do every job whilst you wait but we will try.

We don't operate our workshops on a fixed cost per job basis as this means things are always missed, so we will take your bike in for assessment then let you know what needs doing and you can decide from there.  We operate on a £36 per hour basis with parts on top.

All we ask of you with regards to our workshop is that you bring your bike in clean and free from mud / dirt / debris as otherwise you will be charged for us to wash your bike as our mechaincs are not here to work around god only knows what that could be on your bike!

During the year we run workshop classes that teach you everything from removing your wheels to fixing a puncture to servicing your VPP suspension.  Details of our up and coming classes can be found here
