Wind Jacket

It might have felt like winter started back in July, but for the cycling industry it’s September which marks the transition into wet, windy weather. As always, we have lots of exciting new kit for you this September, with Fox kicking us off with their completely reworked ‘Water, Wind and Fire’ lines of technical cold weather kit.

Wind Jacket Ventillation

First up is the Attack Wind Jacket. This packable shell layer has been designed to take the edge off harsh winds, without turning you into a sweaty mess at the top of each climb. Integral to the jacket’s design is the vented back panel which helps to regulate the your temperature. The Wind jacket is weather resistant enough to deal with the odd light shower, but shouldn’t be seen as a true waterproof layer.

 Attack Water

Windproofing is all well and good, but up here in the Lakes we usually have more than a few light showers to contend with – this is where Fox’s Water range comes in. The Attack Water Jacket pictured above has everything you’d expect from a modern waterproof jacket, with a few extra biking orientated tweaks. Fox have opted for TruSeal three-layer waterproofing material on the Water jacket, with a DWR coating for that all-important beading effect. Vented underarms help to improve breathability and prevent the jacket from getting too hot. The cut of the jacket has been optimized for attacking riding positions, with draw string hem, hook and loop cuffs allowing for a customizable fit.

Water Zip

The Fox Attack Pro Water jacket has a handful of design tweaks to eek out a little more performance for when the weather get truly torrential. TruSeal fabric with a DWR coating has once again been used on this piece, with Cordura elbow pads providing increased abrasion resistance. Ventilation is dealt with by the inclusion of a vented back panel, handily protected from the elements by a waterproof flap. A Teflon coating on the material gives water and dirt less to stick to, helping to improve the jackets longevity.

Attack Water Short

Waterproof shorts are an absolutely necessity for winter riding in the lakes. The Fox Attack Pro water shorts feature the same waterproof fabric as the jackets, so expect great water resistance and breathability. The Pro model also features Fox’s race proven ratchet closure system for improved fit and performance.

Attack Fire

The Attack Thermo Jersey offers wind and water resistance for autumn and winter riding. Featuring 3 way stretch fabric and Cordura elbow pads, the jersey is comfortable enough for long rides, and strong enough to deal with the rigours December in the Lakes.

Indicator Thermal

The Indicator Thermo Jersey will make a great mid or base layer for winter rides. The jersey uses TruDry fabric to help wick moisture away from the body, and Cordura elbow, chest and forearm pads for abrasion resistance.

Fire Pro Inside Edit

Winter can be bloody cold sometimes. The Fox Fire range has been designed to help provide some protection against this with a range of insulating jackets. The Attack Pro jacket is features a DWR coated wind and water resistant outer shell, and a bonded fleece inner for improved warmth on the coldest of rides. Cordura has once again been used in strategic locations for improved abrasion resistance.

Attack Pro Fire Edit

The Fox Autumn winter range is now available at our Ambleside shop, so please get in touch if you want any more details. We’re not done with Winter yet though, as we should be getting new winter stock from our other brands in the near future!
