Review: Bike hire in the Lake District from Biketreks, Ambleside
“Dear Sir/Madam I would just like to take the time to thank you for the wonderful service my wife and I received last weekend whilst hiring 2 mountain bikes from Biketreks. As our first trip to the Lake District and as novices to cycling as a whole we were very impressed by the service of your staff and by the advice given so we could enjoy our day. We hired 2 Scott mountain bikes and were given every accessory necessary, as well as maps and excellent route advice for the local area. Once the bikes were set up we rode over Loughrigg Fell and down to Skelwith Bridge (a somewhat exhilarating experience!) for a stop in the cafe. A gentle track alongside the river to Elterwater gave us a chance to recover before the big climb up to Loughrigg Terrace. The downhill that followed had incredible views across to Grasmere and Rydal Water and was great fun to boot. Despite our inexperience on such terrain the bikes worked flawlessly and gave us the confidence to ride over some, by our standards, challenging terrain. The easy ride back from Rydal to the the Biketreks shop was a pleasant experience and ended a terrific day out. As occasional runners both my wife and I were very impressed and surprised by the whole experience and fully intend to utilize bikes more often. The time given by your busy staff to make sure our bikes were set up properly and that we had the best suited route advice was most welcome. All in all we could not have had a better day out and hiring the bikes was by far the best way to explore the Lake District. Thanks once again for giving us a wonderful day out. Yours Faithfully Mr G Watt" Another happy customer. If you want a good day out come to Biketreks. We’ll get it sorted.
