Here at Biketreks in Ambleside, the Heart of the Lake District, we know a thing or two about riding in the dark! Most of us commute to work all year round (we are hard core us lot!) and when not commuting we are mountain biking round our favourite trails in the dark. Therefore we reckon we are in the best position to offer you our advice on a wide range of Front lights.
In opinion lights fall into 2 categories, those to be seen with, and those to see with. The former category are ideal for you commuters or road riders who want a light to get you home after dark, but you aren't needing 100000 lumens to light up the world! Key products for us in this category would be the Exposure Joystick or Exposure Diablo if your commute is approxiametly an hour or so. If you don't want all the power of the Exposure then look at the Cateye Uno which now comes in a pack with a rear light as well!
For you off road riders we have the Exposure Joystick as a helmet mounted light and the brand new Exposure Six Pack to light up everything in your wake! Alongside this we have the Maxx Daddy which is used by most of the staff here and has proved itself through the rain, mud, ice, snow.....
As well as Exposure we stock the good old Hope Vision 2 and 4 LED lights in both the standard and endurance packs. Revamped for this year they now come in a variety of the Hope colours (sarah is very happy, red ones yay!)and are without a doubt the most reliable and easy to service light on the market. The aftersales service we get with Hope on lights even a few years old cannot be matched!
So whether you are looking for off road or on raod lights we have something to suit everyone and they have been carefully chosen to stand the test of time as we are an abussive lot here and punish most of our kit all year round, so if they've lasted with us you lot should be fine... |
